Amber's Dedication: The Preparation

Amber is all set for her Dedication on Saturday. Thank God for blessing papu, mamu, dadi, mami, papa and mama so much that the preparation and all is like a walk in the park - yeah, a walk in the park with mini obstacle race to go with but nevertheless - it's fun and we love the challenge :P

So, these are the bits and pieces of our prep. I initially like the theme to be vintage with mason mug as dedication favor to godparents but chose pastel colors in the end.

Our Little Kirsten Amber

Our bundle of joy will be on her 4th month on Monday, July 27th :) How time flies.. she can now roll over and do some mini pushups - very active and tough little bubbly girl. I remember how we intently prayed and waited for her arrival, the frustrations and the waiting game - and how beautiful that day was the moment I took a glimpse of that epic two red lines :D

Kirsten Amber Tive-Lana you truly are a gift from God. I might sometimes forget - but take it upon yourself to remind papa and mama that there can never be another you in our lives, that there can only be one almost-always-whimpering and almost-always-barfing but source of ultimate joy "batenten" there can ever be. I pray to God that He'll give us the strength and wisdom to guide you as you grow in love, kindness, humility, patience and all the virtues there is.

Constantly remind us to thank God for the life we have - for it is indeed good. We have families and friends who stood by us - who were always there, who looked after you from Day 1 when your mama was cut up and your papa was dead tired and sleeping like a log :p Love your grandmommies and granddaddies - they are our forever source of strength - if not financially ;) hihi.. love your titas and titos as you are left with their always open and loving arms when papa and mama are not around working to buy you lotsa diapers to poop and milk to throw up - suka pa more! :D Thank you for coming into our lives little "batenten." Let's start making wonderful memories :D

sir, i tender my resignation effective this minute - yes now na!


WORKING IN MANILA for almost two years is an adventure for me. Really! Damu guid ko nabal-an nga routes pakadto terminal 3 - some routes would cause you another ticket kay nabayaan ka na ng plane and for a super saver - sakay ka jeep (galing dapat aga pa guid ka kay malibot-libot pa na kun diin-diin, at least ka-sight seeing ka! :D) I will also miss eating/drinking TAHO for my breakfast on my way to the office. Although I would really love to stay longer kay ma-lagaw pa ko tani around Luzon, I think I have to leave and return in Bacolod na. Hard decision to make really, pero I'll take the risk of accepting a job offer with eyes wide shut (pati mouth na rin!) but I think I will survive naman as I'm with my family - indi man ko guro nila pabay-an kag pagut-man, right? (ka-over sa akun ah!) haha.. Will be missing heavy traffics, emily, dona, maricon and our escapades, weekend imax viewing with agnes, dharl & company and my pasaway na cousins.

Another chapter of my life is about to end and I can't wait for the new one to start. Back to the hassle-free streets (sometimes) of Bacolod! Back to my sabad-sabad but lovable family, friends and gangster!

Thank you God! You've been so generous guid in my life. LIFE'S LIKE THAT - people come and go, good and bad things never lasts - we just have to be thankful and enjoy very moment of it until our supplies of breath lasts kag go go go guid - nd mahadluk sa dulom (kay may kilala ko grownup na hadluk japun sa dulom - la lang! hakhakhak..)

orange sticky notes


While walking on my way home, I can't help but notice orange sticky notes on the sidewalk, sticking on a leaf, on a rock, on a post.. prang tracker - katuwa! Ang nakakatuwa pa - it did lead to our street kya naisipan ko nang kunan ng picture. Naalala ko tuloy yung nabasa kong mystery novel dati entitled Shadow Valley by Gwen Hunter (try nyo basahin - ok lang, hehe). Pro sa kanila nman - violet paper, iniiwan ng anak nya as lead for her mom at kung sino mang makapansin nun, kc kinidnap siya, bright kid. Anyway, naisip ko lang kung sino naglagay nun dun, baka naglalaro sila ng scavenger's hunt pro in fairness - malayu-layo rin tinakbo ng sticky notes nya. :)

All in a Day's Work 101


I am presently employed and is happy with that. What I'm not so happy about is that their admin assistant's job description includes being a graphic artist (thankful that I took photoshop classes before) and being able to come up with acceptable and presentable layouts for brochures and flyers when I know it's some stuff marketing people should be doing. Given that the launching date is just a few days away and these're needed to be reproduced -it resulted to a brain-wrecking hours thinking of clever writeups to type but nothing so brilliant came to mind and so I gave up - ha.ha.ha. Kaya di ko nlang siya pinroblema noh! ano ko - hilo?? Type na lang ako ng type at bahala na silang mag-edit. Unfortunately, no one proofread my work. Seems acceptable naman with my Korean boss lalo na because pareho kaming hirap sa English (hehehe) so, like me, he really don't know the difference, but he seems ok with it and go - pa-publish right away. Task done! Kahit naman ganun - I put my heart into it nman ;)

The soft launching went well with Sir Jino leading the way. The company was then invited to attend an event on the 22nd of this month at Mall of Asia for a project of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. called Green Retail Agenda. By the way, our product is a "sosyal" portable junk shop (not so portable as it weighs 200 kilos) - an eco-robot reverse vending machine where you can earn reward points that are convertible to cash when you feed this with PET bottles and empty cans. We have bright yellow polo tees for a uniform which I find very nice. hehe.. And so, that's it. No comments and all so I guess that's good enough :)

Recollection at Mambukal





Pictures taken during our morning devotion at Mambukal Mountain Resort. A prayer retreat for Grades 4-6 with Nay BB as our Retreat Master along with Ms. Bing. Been very happy with how God works in our lives and for giving us the opportunity to see such wonderful sights.

taken right from my room's window which i call "to-re" cpcs compound. i love sunsets maybe because i don't get the chance to see more of sunrises for i always wake up late. hehe.. there's always this feeling of "the end" "day's end" but i don't worry because i know there will always be another one setting on that horizon again. yey!

The Ruins. the place will take you back to the spanish colonization era. it has stories to tell with its breathtaking sight most especially during sunsets when it illuminates the structural remains. so surreal as if you're in another place like italy :) located at talisay city, negros island. 10 minutes away from bacolod city. although the road going there is not that good yet. the bumps you're going to get from the ride is super worth it. :)

There are many times in my life when I would say, 'ahh... I miss the old times' but hey(!), the great book will tell us that everything, whether good or bad, is created by God. And I say, every day we are tested of our faith and most of the time, especially me, I fail. I don't profess to be a good Christian, 'cause I'm not at all good, but I'm trying to be one. It's not an easy task standing on what I believe in but by God's grace, I'm still on it. sounds goody goody?! wehehe.. God bless you!

Ursa Minor is a constellation in the northern sky, the name of which means Smaller Bear in Latin. It is colloquially known as the Little Dipper because its seven brightest stars seem to form a ladle, or dipper shape. The star at the end of the dipper handle is Polaris, the North Star. If you stood at the north pole, Polaris would be almost directly overhead. If you can spot Polaris in the sky, you can always tell which way is north. In addition, the angle of Polaris above the horizon tells you your latitude on the Earth. Because of this, Polaris was the most important star for navigating at sea. (copy-pasted from wikipedia. hehe.. hirap kaya nyan!)

For me, this constellation has always been the symbol of our friendship connection in Christ. It all started in our hometown church at Muntinlupa where we bonded and became as close as one could possible be. Sis Jen formulated the acronym J3MARC (one of these days, I will ask her of the history) and that has become a "for better and for worse" tag. Wherever you are guys, we're not that far away. We're still under the same stars!

As I look back now, I'm so happy to have met these people who have somewhat molded me to be what I am now. For our Pastor Raffy and wife ate Let-let of NBP Bible-Centered Fellowship and to the Praise and Worship Team at that time with ate Becky. Thank you. It's been, like nine years now, but I am still applying the lessons all of you have taught me. I still write my Prayer Journal occasionally. :-)

Back in highschool, I had this particular... uhm... fondness(?) with the works of Christopher Pike, which real name is Kevin Christopher McFadden. Up to now, I still don't know anything about this writer.
Well, it was my cousin Ging who introduced me to the world of reading gory, mystery, supernatural, thriller, spine-chilling and the likes literatures - thanks to you cuz for the sleepless nights and wild imagination I now have, nevertheless - I love you! Anyway, I just want her to know that - and one more! I miss her, I always do kahit we're not that super connect now. Hehehe... we'll work on that someday. We should.
Back to my topic. I have surfed the net about him just recently but still nothing come out of him Well, I really haven't made an effort to reach or even write him a letter anyway so maybe that's why I never had an inkling about him - yeah, right! Maybe I should! asus, nano man ko man?! Question is, will he write back? The man's a millionaire with lots of grammars, punctuations, subjects, predicates, verbs, nouns, adverbs, adjectives, etc. going about in his head for another book. He might be busy. Hehehe... here I am talking to myself - because no one would talk to me - not even my beh because he don't know a thing about him or even interested in reading one.
If anyone can read this and know something about this writer, could you please prove his existence?! hehehe... joke!
Books I've read that of C. Pike's: bury me deep, die softly, eternal enemy, fall into darkness, gimme a kiss, the immortal, last act, the lost mind, monster, road to nowhere, scavenger's hunt, sati, see you later, spellbound, the star group, the starlight crystal, whisper of death, the wicked heart, witch, the final friends trilogy (courtesy of ewa, my busmate and classmate for a while) and finally, remember me and the midnight club as my favorites.
Actually, I've read these all so long ago and would like to read it all again to see if my preferences or what I think about his books change. I am now for Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwell, Harlan Coben, uhm... I also read romantic novel like that of Danielle Steele and the likes.
Lastly, the book that everyone should read is the book of the Bible. Oh no, I don't want to sound so goody goody here or anything 'coz I'm not. Honestly, I've read the whole book the first time and just remember things like that of the stories of Moses, Joseph, David, Solomon, when Jesus was born and risen, and some important points I apply in my life. It really has interesting stories to tell and teach to all of us. God is the greatest author of all, anyway. He is the author of the whole wide universe. The author of our faith.
